Get Creative With Jobs At Home

If you're looking for a way to make some extra money by doing jobs at home, then learn to think outside the box about the possibilities. There are many creative ways to spend a few hours each day doing jobs at home.

Perhaps you are looking to work for an outside company that gives people jobs at home. You may be able to get paid to do research for a professor at a local university or to grade papers for a local teacher. Before getting jobs at home you should think about things you are good at and things that interest you. There is nothing worse than having jobs at home that don't hold your attention. Look for a local business that allows people to do bookkeeping or payroll jobs at home. Try looking through the classified ads for jobs that can be done at home. It never hurts to give a few companies and try and suggest to them that you perform the duties they require while at home.

Consider other jobs at home that you can gather by assisting your neighbors or friends. Babysitting or nannying for the children of your friends or neighbors can be a great job do to from the comfort of your own home. Especially if you are raising your own kids at home, day care is a great job at home. Do you have neighbors that work full-time and leave their pets behind? If so, consider starting a small business to walk, feed and play with dogs during the day. What a great and fun way to increase jobs at home.

We all know that women who work all day are often too tired or too busy to cook a nice, healthy meal for their family. Why not start a job at home cooking meals for different neighbor families each night? For a small price you cook spend some hours each day making gourmet meals that will keep your neighbors healthy and satisfied after a long day of work.

For those to whom creativity and artistry comes naturally, put an ad in the paper to create custom made invitations for weddings, bridal showers, or birthday parties. Get paid to do fun jobs at home that you enjoy. Meet with clients and then take their ideas back to your home. Think of the fun you could have spending a few hours each day creating beautiful and unique invitations to some of life's most special events.

There are endless ways to get jobs at home. You simply have to know what you are good at and then market those skills to the people around you. In no time you can be doing jobs at home that you love.

I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles/blogs on my site. Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

Evaluating Work At Home Jobs

Check out every listing you review. Find out if there's a salary or if you're paid on commission. Ask how often are you paid and how you are paid. Ask what equipment (hardware/software) you need to provide.

Avoid listings that guarantee you wealth, financial success or that will help you get rich fast from home. Stay clear of listings that offer you high income for part-time hours. They will do none of the above.

Ask for references - request a list of other employees or contractors to find out how this has worked for them. Then contact the references to ask how this is working out.

If the company isn't willing to provide references (names, email addresses and phone numbers) do not consider the opportunity.

If it sounds too good to be true, you can be sure it is!

The Work at Home Jobs You Don't Want:
Data Entry Jobs - You'll see lots of listings for data entry jobs. They are usually either positions posting ads or a sales pitch for a kit that will get you started.

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) which involves recruiting new people, and more new people, to sell the product. If all you are doing is trying to find more people to do what you're doing, keep in mind that there are probably thousands of other people attempting to do the same thing. None of them are getting rich.

Online Businesses - Do you want to start your own online business and get rich? Be very wary of these type of ads too. What 'll you do is end up paying for a guide to working at home which duplicates information you can find free.

Posting Ads - There are lots of ads saying workers are needed to post ads on online bulletin boards and forums. You don't get paid to post, rather you may get paid if other people sign-up.

Processing Claims - In order to get "hired" you'll need to buy equipment, software and pay for training.

Stuffing Envelopes - Believe it, or not, there are still people saying that you can earn $3 or $4 per envelope to stuff them. You can't. All major companies have postage machines which stuff, sort and meter mail.

The winner in the scam contest are the sites that offer to sell provide you with information on only legitimate work at home jobs - for a nominal fee, of course. Don't do it!

How to Find Out

How do you find out if the posting you are responding to is legitimate or a scam? Check our Work at Home Scam information to research companies before you apply, or just shoot me an email and allow me to research it for you.

Create Your Own Work At Home Job

Securing a work at home job can take a lot of time, patience, and persistence. Unfortunately, by the time most people begin searching for a job to do at home, they are already in a severe financial bind and need to begin earning right away. That's just not realistic with most work at home jobs and businesses. However, it is very possible to begin earning some income almost immediately by using your existing skills and abilities.

The first step is to figure out exactly what your skills are. Don't say you don't have any. Everyone has things they are good at. ;-) Whether your skills have been learned in a job or everyday life doesn't matter. What type of work have you done in the past? Are you good with accounting, clerical work, filing, typing? Look at your hobbies and interests also. Can you design web pages, take great photographs, sew, knit? Do you love children or animals? Are you a great organizer or cleaner? Do you love to shop? Write down all of your skills, abilities, and interests.

Once you know what you can do, figure out a way to use those skills to earn some money. Get creative! Think in terms of products or services. What products or services can you provide that others will find value in? Big hint: people are always looking for ways to save time, save money, or improve their quality of life. Can you help them do that?

Here are some examples of ways you could use your skills: shopping, cleaning, organizing, party planning, childcare, pet-sitting/dog-walking, taking pets to veterinary appointments, errand service for Moms or elderly, assisting small businesses in your area with clerical work, painting (both interior and exterior), junk removal, yardwork, taking photographs at special events or tourist attractions, making and selling craft items at fairs or flea markets, designing websites for small local businesses, catering or cooking.

That's just the tip of the iceburg, but you get the idea. Once you have some ideas for possible businesses you could do, find out what legal requirements you'd have for starting a business like that in your home. Call your Town Clerk's office and your state's Dept. of Revenue to find out what paperwork or licenses you'd need to get started.

Then research the going rates for the work you're considering. If you're really not sure how much to charge, consider how much you'd like to earn per hour, and ask yourself whether most people would be willing to pay that or not. You don't want to under-charge and make it not worth your while, but you also don't want to charge ridiculous rates that people wouldn't pay. Your rate per hour will vary depending on the type of work you're doing, but in a general sense, try to keep your rates reasonable while still paying yourself what you're worth.

Then you can start marketing. Marketing does not have to be expensive. Make up some flyers yourself or have a print shop do it, and begin posting them on public bulletin boards. You can also pay for an inexpensive classified ad in your local newspaper. You might need to invest a little money to get started, but there is no need to spend hundreds of dollars. Start small. Once you begin building a client base you can always pay for more advertising. You can also have some business cards made up (or make your own) to pass out to potential clients. Don't be afraid to approach your target market directly, either! If you want to provide a service to small local businesses, go in and introduce yourself. Tell them who you are and what you do. Leave a flyer with them. Don't sit home waiting for the phone to ring, get out there and make it happen.

Guess what? You're in business! Even if this isn't what you want to continue doing forever, that's okay. You can still continue searching for jobs or researching home businesses that will more closely match what your career vision is. In the meantime, at least you will be earning some money to reduce the financial pressure in your household.

At Home Jobs For Stay At Home Moms

More moms everyday are looking to the Internet to solve their desire to be at home more with their families. The cost of day care, fuel and stress of the day-to-day job is becoming to much too bear. Why not? Who can take better care of your children than you? Mom and Dads are always best.

In doing some research I was looking for specific Work At Home or Home Base Business programs that could be started, worked and operated from anywhere a person could find a computer and access to the Internet. I felt this was important because there are moms that may have to get their new work at home cash generating endeavor up and running from various locations.

I am happy to say that there are many work at home opportunities that will help you fulfill your needs.  You are going to have to do some work from somewhere to get paid. Nothing is free in life.

The good news is with minimal time you should be able to generate some cash that can help you reach your goals. It is very important to avoid some of the common pit falls such as jumping into the first program you see without checking them out or knowing if you have the skills sets and comfort level to do what will be asked of you. How do you know this particular program will even pay you after you do the work? Many of these problems can be minimized by doing some research up front. This is an important decision for you, it can change your lifestyle, so why not give it the effort it deserves. I recommend using a website like mine, but not necessarily mine, that has done some research for you or do it yourself. You really need to do one or the other or both.

Once you have done your research then you will want to narrow down the choices to 2 - 3 good programs that match your work at home profile. This consists of understanding your time constraints, skill sets, comfort zone and income objectives. One you have done this then proceed on to join the selected program or programs reading carefully the step-by-step guidance provided. Once you have completed the training then start working the hours you are able thus creating income for you and your family. Exercise patience, because many companies will pay bi-weekly or monthly.

You are probably thinking about the cost of joining 2 - 3 programs. The cost is minimal normally less then it cost to take your family out to a dinner and a movie one evening. Invest one evening in yourself. You deserve it.  So, research, match your work at home profile, join, work and start earning today! I wish you the very best.

A Simple Work At Home Job: "A baby newspaper includes the child’s name as the headlines..."

At first glance you may be asking, what is a baby newspaper? A baby newspaper is a special keepsake birth announcement that is set up to read and looks like a newspaper. This is a fun and unique gift for a mother to be, new parents or as a birthday gift for an older child. It is a way to commemorate the birth of someone dear. This is a gift that is purchased by parents, friends and relatives.

Newspaper Information
A baby newspaper includes the child’s name as the headline, the option of placing a photo on the newspaper and the real headlines of the birthday. Weather conditions; hit TV programs, top toys and more. This is a special way for someone to look back in the future at the day they were born. You will see how the world around them has changed and to see where you have come.

Business Tools
In order to begin a baby newspaper home business you will need a computer, a printer and an Internet connection. You will want to create a domain name and create a website for your services/ products. A basic website costs $10.00 per month. This fee is easily paid back to you with profit attached.

Other Newspaper Events
You can create announcements and newspapers for other events as well. Graduations, weddings and over the hill birthday celebrations can all be fun to announce in this special way. People of all ages, races and cultures can enjoy this special keepsake. This job requires no degree, only effort and creativity.

Cost
You can charge a special price for announcements that are framed and you can price announcements according to the details included in the paper. If the colors are chosen to be specific for the child’s room a price may be more a simple pink or blue theme. Advertising online can be a great tool. Using keyword density on your website will allow solid traffic flow to your site. Be sure to have some clear examples of your product on the site for customers to view.

Related Product Sales
Not only can you create these keepsake announcements but you can also include candy wrappers for special occasions. You type up and event date and title with the event details to be passed out at reunions or weddings. This is a special treat and is very popular with customers. It’s simple to create, print, wrap the candy bar and ship out to the customers address. This is a great product to offer alongside of the announcement newspapers.

Your Own Home Business
If you don’t mind a little daily news research and a small amount of typing, then you could be on your way to a thriving home business. It’s simple, fun and can make a substantial amount of income. Give it some thought and prepare to be your own baby newspaper editor. You can work when you want and enjoy a relaxing home-based atmosphere as you earn money for yourself and your family, while making a special memento for your customers to cherish.

7 Ways to Network Your Way Out Of a Job and Into a Work At Home Career

To my subscribers - I hope you've missed me as much as I've missed you....but after a series of texts with my brother-in-love this morning, I thought I'd say hello and help someone out today....

Everyday you can read articles about how people network and find another job. You can find countless numbers of books and articles on how to create relationships to find jobs that might not otherwise be known. But what about people who don’t want to work?

I am not talking about a lazy person without any ambition. The person I am referring to is the unemployable, the serial entrepreneur or corporate refugee. If you are currently working in a job and what you want is not another job but to become a work at home entrepreneur networking can still be for you.

Here are 7 networking strategies you can use to catapult your work from home career.

1. Create your own Board of Directors. IBM and Microsoft are not the only ones who should have a boardroom team. As a home based business owner you want to have a group of people who you can meet with, mastermind and get advice from (my board is my wife).

Often times they may see skills and talents in you that you might not recognize. Once you have identified what your business goal is you have the opportunity to leverage the power of six degrees of separation. Six degrees of separation is the principle that anyone on earth can be connected to another person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five relationships apart.

2. Join Networking Organizations for Entrepreneurs. Successful business owners like to connect with each and expand their relationships. Look for organizations that have business owners in the same area of interest as you. Don’t just see them as competitors. Look for opportunities that you might be able to assist them in some way. Here are a couple of groups to consider:

The Chamber of Commerce
BNI (Business Networking International
Le-Tip
Rotary International

Each of these organizations have different personalities and cultures. Attend a few meetings before you call one of them home. Know what you ultimately want. Basil S. Walsh states, “If you don't know where you are going, how can you expect to get there?”

First establish in very specific detail what you are going to achieve. Did you notice that I said going to achieve? Life will give you exactly what you expect from it. Start with the end in mind.

Now is the time to dream big and visualize what your life will look like when you are a successful business owner. Don’t worry about the how. Simply set goals by asking yourself some key questions such as:

A. What would I love to do even if I did not get paid for it?
B. How many days will I work each week?
C. What type of work from home business am I interested in?
D. Where will I live?
E. What do I like to do?

Determine what you need to happen to get out your job. Do you know how much you need to make in your business to leave your job?  What is your financial freedom number? Your financial freedom number is the amount of income you need to have coming in passively each month to cover all of your expenses.

One of the reasons you want to know this is when you are looking at home based business income opportunities you want to choose one that has the profit potential you want and need. If your financial freedom number is $5000.00 per month you don’t want to choose a business that does not have the potential to net that on a passive basis.

As you are networking and meeting new people you can analyze the business opportunities that arise from a totally unemotional point of view because you are clear about your goals.

3. Remember it is better to give then receive. One of the biggest problems I see with networking is most people go in it to see what they can get first before they give. Always look for a way to be of service to the people that you meet first. There is a universal law of reciprocity. You will always get back more than you give out. As you get to know people think about how you can help to enrich their life or help them towards their goals.

If you read an article or run across something that might be of help to them send it. When you have a genuine interest in others success you are blessed through your giving.

Some people call it karma and others say you reap what you sow. My life’s experiences have been blessed more than I could have every imagined whenever I give.

So look for ways to contribute. You may be able to do this in a variety of ways:

a. Volunteer to work with them some way.
b. Introduce them to people in your network that could help them.
c. Send notes or articles that might be areas of interest or could help to increase their business.

4. Learn how to joint venture or strategically partnership. One of the fastest ways to get out of your job, launch a business or simply make some money is to create a joint venture with someone.

Joint Venturing is a way to take either yourself or two other people who could profit from working together but simply did not have the relationship. You profit from making the connection.

For example you know a veterinarian has a large practice with a list of over 700 clients. You also have a relationship with a new pet groomer in the city who is trying to increase his business. You put the two together and every time the pet groomer gets a new client due to your structuring this deal you get paid. We call this mail box money. Money comes in your mail box whether you work or not.

5. Set up a written networking plan. I am amazed at how much time and effort people will spend to find a new job. However, when it comes to designing a plan to exit the rat race they do it almost haphazardly. You will be much more effective if you have a written plan. The plan does not have to be elaborate. Here are some of the basic things you want to cover:

a. What is my goal?
b. Who do I want to meet?
c. What events should I focus on?
d. How often should I be networking?

6. Attend seminars and boot camp events. Specialized knowledge is one of the keys to being successful in a home based business. When you attend boot camps and seminars you able to surround yourself with like minded people as well as learn from the experts.

However, if you really want to make these educational experiences profitable do three things:

a. Introduce yourself to at least 3 people and get their cards. Ask them why they are there and what they hope to get out of the event. Exchange numbers and ask, “What is the single most important thing you need help in making your business venture successful?”

When you ask this of someone else you will genuinely get to know someone and you may be able to help them. In addition, out of respect they will want to know more about you and a new relationship may be formed.

b. Go to lunch with someone you meet at the seminar and tell them the things you learned so far and will implement. There is something about speaking your goal out loud that will make it real. If you immediately implement one single action every time you learn something the results will grow exponentially.

c. Introduce yourself to the speaker. Sometimes this can be difficult if the event is large. However, if there is a book signing buy their book so while they are signing it you can ask one question. My question is, “What is the single most important skill you contribute to your success?”  You might like my question or you can come up with your own. The point is you have a great opportunity to network and learn from someone who is a master at their craft. Seize the opportunity.

7.Have a goal for every networking opportunity. Simply going to an event and "working the room" almost never yields any measurable results. Before you attend any event know what you want your outcome to be in advance. Are you going to meet specific person? How will you insure your introduction? Make sure you have crafted out a plan and enlist support from someone to help you execute if needed.

For example, if you want to meet someone ask the host of the networking event if they know the person and if they would be willing to introduce you. Your chances of success are almost guaranteed due to the nature of the event.

Networking is often an overlooked opportunity to find a way out of the rat race. If you want to look for a work at home career, connections can be a key to rapid success. Get the inside tips and discover 7 ways to network your way out of a job.
