Evaluating Work At Home Jobs

Check out every listing you review. Find out if there's a salary or if you're paid on commission. Ask how often are you paid and how you are paid. Ask what equipment (hardware/software) you need to provide.

Avoid listings that guarantee you wealth, financial success or that will help you get rich fast from home. Stay clear of listings that offer you high income for part-time hours. They will do none of the above.

Ask for references - request a list of other employees or contractors to find out how this has worked for them. Then contact the references to ask how this is working out.

If the company isn't willing to provide references (names, email addresses and phone numbers) do not consider the opportunity.

If it sounds too good to be true, you can be sure it is!

The Work at Home Jobs You Don't Want:
Data Entry Jobs - You'll see lots of listings for data entry jobs. They are usually either positions posting ads or a sales pitch for a kit that will get you started.

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) which involves recruiting new people, and more new people, to sell the product. If all you are doing is trying to find more people to do what you're doing, keep in mind that there are probably thousands of other people attempting to do the same thing. None of them are getting rich.

Online Businesses - Do you want to start your own online business and get rich? Be very wary of these type of ads too. What 'll you do is end up paying for a guide to working at home which duplicates information you can find free.

Posting Ads - There are lots of ads saying workers are needed to post ads on online bulletin boards and forums. You don't get paid to post, rather you may get paid if other people sign-up.

Processing Claims - In order to get "hired" you'll need to buy equipment, software and pay for training.

Stuffing Envelopes - Believe it, or not, there are still people saying that you can earn $3 or $4 per envelope to stuff them. You can't. All major companies have postage machines which stuff, sort and meter mail.

The winner in the scam contest are the sites that offer to sell provide you with information on only legitimate work at home jobs - for a nominal fee, of course. Don't do it!

Summer Opportunity AmeriCorps

When school doors close for the summer, many young people and their families lose access to critical support that keeps them safe, healthy, and engaged. This summer “opportunity gap” contributes to breaks in achievement and college and career success, particularly for low-income students.
President Obama announced his Administration’s plan to support young people across the country during the summer, and is launching a new initiative, "Summer Opportunity AmeriCorps", to build on existing national service programs that address this summer gap. This program will help young people, including high school students, who serve their communities earn money for college.
Summer Opportunity AmeriCorps recognizes the potential of all youth to contribute in meaningful ways to communities across the country through volunteer service.
Specifically, they are committing up to $15 million over the next three years in Segal AmeriCorps Education Awards. The program will help youth learn critical skills, such as project management and teamwork. And, in return, they may earn money to help them advance their education.
This project builds on the President’s initiative to enable strong transitions from school year to school year and from high school to college and careers by bringing together state and local leaders, community-based organizations, private sector and philanthropic leaders, schools, and other youth-serving agencies.
Background on Program: AmeriCorps is collaborating with the National Summer Learning Association, a national organization exclusively focused on closing the achievement gap by increasing access to high-quality summer learning opportunities to young people, and other organizations to develop a program model that aims to engage mayors, nonprofits, and other partners to create summer opportunities for up to 20,000 individuals during the next three years.

Home Based Business and Work at Home Marketing

Let's face it, if you work at home and operate an online home based business, the number one goal has to be "website promotion". If you don't have a good Internet marketing plan in place, You will fail! Let's talk about ways to get traffic to your website and get the kind of sales you deserve.

Now, over the years, I have tried just about every home business and work at home idea that I could find on the Internet. I have spent at least hundreds maybe even thousands of dollars on scams and schemes. I have spent countless hours, days, weeks, months and years trying these programs. And now, my business partner (the Mrs.) wants us to re-brand and re-market our business.

Why, you ask? Well, I am sure you have heard the term "trial and error". I have always considered these tasks, not as a loss, but as "Priceless Experience". I have been able to weed out the losers and find the winners!

There are several ways to promote your website or online home business that can easily fit into most any budget. Let's take a look at some methods that I have found to be extremely effective.

Traffic Exchanges
Some of these are useless! But if you do your homework, you can find the sites that will have an option to "upgrade" to some type of "Pro" membership, which generally comes with lots of bonus credits each month and many different ways that you can get massive traffic to your website or online home business.

Articles for Content
One of the best ways to get links to go to your site (which will increase your search engine ranking) is to write articles. Whatever your home business is, create the articles utilizing keywords that relate to your website. You can submit these articles to article directories and other webmasters will gradually place them on blogs, ezines and newsletters. They will also be used for content on websites.

Blogs
Once you have your articles written you should create your own blog. Blogs are a very key method to promote your business online. People are always looking for information, and blogs have become some of the most popular websites on the Internet. Heck, you're reading my article on my blog right now (no doubt).

Newspaper Classified Ads
Yes, that's right! Newspaper ads. This is a great way to get traffic to your website. It is a very economical method of advertising. When you do this, make sure and be consistent. Run your ads for several weeks.

PPC Advertising
This is a very good way to get traffic to your website. It is neccesary, especially when your website is new. It will get traffic to your site while you work on climbing up the search engine natural rankings.

Search Engine Optimization
Make sure you find a reputable company to help you with this. Ask them to email you with at least 12 websites that they have optimized and are ranking on the first page of Google and Yahoo! Don't use them if they cannot provide this information! Remember, "the proof is in the pudding".

I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles/blogs on my site. Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

Dealing With Pressure For The Home-Based Business Entrepreneur

What is the most effective way to deal with the anxiety that a home-based business entrepreneur experiences? The quick answer is to realize that this is part of being a business owner and to learn to live with it. The anxiety will not go away over night and you may be experiencing it for many years as you look at the profit/loss margins that occur with starting a business and moving to a place where it is stable and successful.

Many people are drawn to the idea of being self-employed, and not having to work for a boss and also because they think that there are many freedoms with this type of business. They soon find out; however, that this is not the case and they will actually be working long, hard hours for a few years as they try to get their business on its feet. The difference in being self-employed is that everything rests on your shoulders. When you were working for someone else, you had to deal with things you probably did not want to but the entire weight of the financial success of the company was not your concern – now it is. You are now concerned if there will be enough profit to pay your employees (that includes yourself), your vendors, and your bills.

Remember that simply because you are feeling pressure does not mean your business is going to fail. It simply means you are now in business for yourself and are facing the same pressures that all business owners experience at some time or another. Anxiety is a great motivator. You may wake up and not want to do any work, you would prefer to make an early round of golf, instead you realize that if you choose this option you will only be making it more difficult for yourself and you will lose money as opposed to making money. I would actually be concerned if you started a new business and had absolutely no fears at all, that is being arrogant and has a great chance of leading to failure.

There is a difference in being confident about your business venture and arrogant. Arrogant is thinking nothing will go wrong and you do not have to make an effort or sweat over the financial affairs of your new business. So how do you deal with the pressure? Make sure you have a financial plan. Talk to those who are involved in your business and make sure everyone knows their goals. Talk about the risks and whether-or-not, they are worth taking. Do not stick your head in the sand and pretend they do not exist – they do and you need to face them head on and when you do,you will be successful and your anxiety will lessen and will eventually go away.

I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles/blogs on my site. Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

Balancing Your Work For The Home Business

With so many young people trying to work from home on the Internet it is amazing just how many of them really do not have the slightest idea of the workload they have got themselves into.

Many of these people did not even sit down and assess what it is that they see as reasonable personal goal. This is a huge mistake on their part. You must know what you want in order to find a way to obtain it. It must be clear to everyone willing to jump into the Internet marketing world; if you are not sure whether or not you have the drive and a willingness to succeed you might want to save yourself some time, money and much aggravation. It is easy to desire something, and you may think you know how to get it, but there is this little issue about dedication and determination, do you have it? Why put yourself through the troubles of failing and wondering exactly where you went wrong.

The great Winston Churchill once said, “If you find yourself walking through hell, just keep going”. This idea of the struggles people face, in business and in life is just that. Struggles, the winners will survive and the weak will fall. This has been a true facet in life since the beginning of time. Basically staying power in the Internet marketing business is about keeping your face off the pavement.

They also do not get the fact that because it is their business and not someone else’s responsibility, that they in turn will have to work probably much harder to keep it going. When these people hear the nonsense about working 1 hour per week and striking it rich, I truly feel sorry for their heads and wallets when they inevitably re-enter the earth’s atmosphere, and hit the ground with a screeching halt. Again this may be nothing more than naivety, and not total stupidity. The unfortunate part for most people new to the scene is that they have absolutely no idea just what it entails on a time basis.

What must be remembered is that success cannot be bought in a can. It is the single marketing plan and strategy that is doomed to fail. You must be able to walk many avenues in order to reap the benefits of the successes it can yield. Buy into what you truly feel will get you ahead, listen to what other marketers are saying in the forums and try to catch on quick. This field is extremely fast and waits for no one. The best way to do business is to spread out your resources as much as possible; the best way for exposure is to be out in the middle of the field, if you do your research first, then i have no doubt you will be successful.

Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!
