Work At Home Jobs And Opportunities - How To Make A Legitimate Income From Home

Millions of people worldwide are enticed by the opportunity to work at home. A job from home allows individuals considerably more flexibility, extra time with family and generally alleviates the immense stress which may result from an active career. At home jobs are also desirable for individuals who wish to make an extra income in addition to their day job, college students, disabled persons, at home mothers and senior citizens.

Thousands of people search the internet everyday in hopes of finding financial freedom from the comfort of their own home. Unfortunately, the internet is plagued with work at home scams. There are hundreds of companies which promote 'get rich quick schemes' or 'guaranteed' opportunities to make a living from home. Scams include, but are not limited to, envelope stuffing, mail order, pyramid schemes, medical billing, typist jobs and numerous other ways to make money. The FTC has already charged several individuals involved in managing and promoting fraudulent work at home opportunities. “The dream of owning a business is as American as apple pie, but business opportunity scammers spoil the recipe for success,” said FTC Chairman Deborah Platt Majoras. According to the Better Business Bureau, consumers may lose amounts ranging from $10 up to $70,000 or more in their search to make money from home. So how do you know which opportunities are legitimate and which are not?

Fortunately, there are actually legitimate money making opportunities available on the internet. A large number of individuals actually do earn a good living on the internet. There are people who make millions on the internet and are living the life all of us would like to live. Many more, however, earn an income comparable to their salary or, in many cases, higher.

Many legitimate telecommuting jobs from qualified employers exist. A significant number of them do require some type of skill, but that does not mean you need a college degree to earn a living on the internet. The World Wide Web is full of opportunities, and all types of persons from all over the world are making their dreams come true by working at home.

I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles/blogs on my site. Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

How To Choose A Home Business Or Job

One thing I constantly see from "newbies" to the work at home world is, "I'm so confused, I don't know where to start!" It's true, there is so much information out there, and not all of it good. Scams are mixed right in with legitimate business opportunities and jobs.

Here is a very simple way to decide on a direction if you are looking for a work at home job or business.

What do you enjoy doing? Make a list of every single thing you enjoy, or have an interest in.

What are you good at? Make another list of every single talent or ability you have, or have done in previous jobs. Not just regular "jobs" either, look at the things you do for your family, friends, hobbies, etc.

Play the match game. Can any of your items from List #1 be combined with an item from List #2 and made into a home business? For example if you love to clean, and you're good at organizing, you could become a professional organizer or start a cleaning business. If you love writing, you could write articles and eBooks about how to get organized. (or any topic from List #1 or #2)

Do you want to be your own boss or work for someone else? If you want to work for someone else, start researching jobs that would match the items from your lists. If you want to work for yourself, start researching possible home business options, either with an existing company, or forming your own.

There are so many directions you could go in. The hardest part is choosing one. Get clear about what you don't want to do. Hate phone work? Make a note of that. In fact, make a list of every single thing that you don't want to do in a job/biz. Then write a vision of what you DO truly want. If you could wave a magic wand over your life right now, what would you create? What type of work would you be doing? How much money would you be making? Where would you live? How much time would you spend working, and how much time with family? Write all of this down in full detail and refer back to it often. It's your dream, and you need to keep infusing it with life and energy.

Great! You know where you want to end up, now you need to think about the steps that will get you there. Just take it a step at a time, don't get overwhelmed.

It's going to take time to fully realize your vision of working at home. If you're really strapped for cash, consider taking on a part-time job outside the home while you build your work at home job or business. That will relieve the pressure of needing to "create an income right now!" Then you can take your time and build your dream.

Finally, believe you CAN do this! Millions of people are already successfully working from home, and you can too. Just choose a direction and start moving toward it!

I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles/blogs on my site. Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

Create Your Own Work At Home Job

Securing a work at home job can take a lot of time, patience, and persistence. Unfortunately, by the time most people begin searching for a job to do at home, they are already in a severe financial bind and need to begin earning right away. That's just not realistic with most work at home jobs and businesses. However, it is very possible to begin earning some income almost immediately by using your existing skills and abilities.

The first step is to figure out exactly what your skills are. Don't say you don't have any. Everyone has things they are good at. ;-) Whether your skills have been learned in a job or everyday life doesn't matter. What type of work have you done in the past? Are you good with accounting, clerical work, filing, typing? Look at your hobbies and interests also. Can you design web pages, take great photographs, sew, knit? Do you love children or animals? Are you a great organizer or cleaner? Do you love to shop? Write down all of your skills, abilities, and interests.

Once you know what you can do, figure out a way to use those skills to earn some money. Get creative! Think in terms of products or services. What products or services can you provide that others will find value in? Big hint: people are always looking for ways to save time, save money, or improve their quality of life. Can you help them do that?

Here are some examples of ways you could use your skills: shopping, cleaning, organizing, party planning, childcare, pet-sitting/dog-walking, taking pets to veterinary appointments, errand service for Moms or elderly, assisting small businesses in your area with clerical work, painting (both interior and exterior), junk removal, yardwork, taking photographs at special events or tourist attractions, making and selling craft items at fairs or flea markets, designing websites for small local businesses, catering or cooking.

That's just the tip of the iceburg, but you get the idea. Once you have some ideas for possible businesses you could do, find out what legal requirements you'd have for starting a business like that in your home. Call your Town Clerk's office and your state's Dept. of Revenue to find out what paperwork or licenses you'd need to get started.

Then research the going rates for the work you're considering. If you're really not sure how much to charge, consider how much you'd like to earn per hour, and ask yourself whether most people would be willing to pay that or not. You don't want to under-charge and make it not worth your while, but you also don't want to charge ridiculous rates that people wouldn't pay. Your rate per hour will vary depending on the type of work you're doing, but in a general sense, try to keep your rates reasonable while still paying yourself what you're worth.

Then you can start marketing. Marketing does not have to be expensive. Make up some flyers yourself or have a print shop do it, and begin posting them on public bulletin boards. You can also pay for an inexpensive classified ad in your local newspaper. You might need to invest a little money to get started, but there is no need to spend hundreds of dollars. Start small. Once you begin building a client base you can always pay for more advertising. You can also have some business cards made up (or make your own) to pass out to potential clients. Don't be afraid to approach your target market directly, either! If you want to provide a service to small local businesses, go in and introduce yourself. Tell them who you are and what you do. Leave a flyer with them. Don't sit home waiting for the phone to ring, get out there and make it happen.

Guess what? You're in business! Even if this isn't what you want to continue doing forever, that's okay. You can still continue searching for jobs or researching home businesses that will more closely match what your career vision is. In the meantime, at least you will be earning some money to reduce the financial pressure in your household.

I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles/blogs on my site. Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

Easy Web Store Home Business

You will need much more than just a pretty web site, to competitively sell products online. There is a plethora of details that are entailed with the whole e-store marketing place. The company must be able to set up and run a strategy or marketing campaign, ensure business gets to the site in the first place, ensure that the products can be sold, and tend to all the small details that involve returns, inventory, and the fulfillment of orders. This is not an easy task, especially if you are doing this all by yourself. It is always helpful if you have a partner in this endeavor. This will ensure that you are not flooded with things that must be done and become exhausted.

There are many options for an e-store and its development, you can go to a place like e-bay, or another option is NetSuite. With this service you can assure that your e-store will be a place that handles all kinds of products, has a vast and expansive catalog, and can deal with the heavy traffic it can generate. This is also a great option for companies that are anticipating return customers. You can deal with your online transactions and your offline transactions smoothly and efficiently, and get to the data or profiling that you need in a snap. With this data you can ensure that you will be on the top of the field when it comes to spotting new and improved marketing strategies and sales opportunities. This will also keep you close to the customers that spend the most in your business, keeping profits up.

Having a very convenient check out service and shopping cart icon allows for the easy control of what is being ordered and placed in purchase lists more often. This will in turn allow for a plan and keep this product readily stocked for future sales. When it comes to the sales aspect of the whole e-store, this program allows for multiple payment methods, which for any good business owner is a must. By keeping the options for payment wide open, you then ensure the chances are much greater for a sale than if you have a couple of difficult options that may not fit into the customer’s choices. It is a good way to generate foreign sales as the conversion is taken care of and the payment options reach customers abroad as well.

NetSuite allows for immediate and frequent updating and refreshing to keep your catalog as current as possible for your customers. This will also enable you to keep sales on the higher levels rather the customer going elsewhere for the same product. This in all is a great tool to keep you in the upper e-store rankings and ensure profit for years to come.

Home Business: What to Consider...

If you are looking to start a home business chances are that you have done a lot of research into this venture.  Starting a home business can be very profitable in more ways than one.  A lot of people believe that they have thought about everything that goes into a home business, only to find out that they have forgotten some very important aspects.  Below are a few things that you may have forgotten that you will definitely need to address before you get started.

1. Working at home is completely different than working in an office.  Many people forget that there are a lot of distractions that go along with working from home.  When you are running a home business you will have to contend with distractions such as the television and radio.  You will also have to be able to deal with any other family members that are going to be home with you.  Your kids may not be able to tell the difference between work time and play time.  This presents a lot of problems to people that run a home business.

2. If you run a home business you are going to need to have a lot of self discipline.  You are going to be your only boss, which means that there will be nobody looking over your shoulder telling you what to do.  Without this sort of supervision many people end up slacking off. If you want to run a successful home business you need to be able to stay on track day in and day out.

3. When you run a home business you are responsible for all of your supplies.  Many people forget to budget for this.  Remember, if your computer crashes it is your responsibility to get it fixed.  You know longer have an IT team that you can call to help out.  You will also be responsible for buying your own supplies when you need them.

4. As a home business owner you are in charge of every facet of your business.  This means that you will not only have to make sales and take care of marketing, but you will also be in charge of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

5. Home business owners are in charge of their own taxes.  When you run a home business there are no taxes being deducted from your paycheck every month.  This means that if don’t want to go to jail you are going to have to pay your own taxes throughout the year.  This is usually too much for a home business owner to handle alone, so you will have to hire a professional to assist you. A home business can be very profitable, but make sure that you know exactly what you are getting into before you start.

I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles/blogs on my site. Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

Home Business System

Are you good with computers and considering a home business where you can utilize your computer knowledge? You may be interested in starting a computer tech business from home offering support to the millions of Americans who own computers but often times become very frustrated with them.

If you are planning this type of business with your spouse and have children carefully, consider this venture before stepping into it. You will need to be able to manage your time and have an excellent ability to communicate to each other. You do not want your partnership to turn into a power struggle or both your marriage and business can become at risk of falling apart. Starting a home business takes investment both financially and emotionally so weigh your options carefully before jumping into the arena of home-based businesses.

It will be important to divide the responsibilities within the business. Look at the strengths that both of you have and divide them up that way. If both you and your spouse have great skills, when it comes to working with clients, one of you may prefer to do a different part of the business. Your business will succeed when you work together utilizing each other’s strengths as opposed to getting into a power struggle over who should work in which area of the business. Just as in a corporate environment, you have those who work in the forefront working with the customers and managing the day-to-day operations and another who work behind the scene generating the paperwork, payroll, and other office duties. Any large financial decisions should always be made together.

You do not want to be screaming at each other when differences arise so decide on a plan as to how you are going to handle disputes that arise and they do arise in all businesses. Again look at how businesses are run, have weekly meetings or even morning daily meetings to look at what you are going to accomplish that day. If you start your business but never, take time to communicate with each other as to what is happening your business will fail. Having weekly or daily meetings will lessen the chance of something happening that is unexpected and you will be more able to handle the little things that crop up.

If you have, children in the home consider hiring someone to come in and take care of the kids while you are working. It does not have to be all day but maybe for a few select hours when you know that you and your spouse need to concentrate without interruptions. Although one of the reasons you probably wanted to start a home business is so that you can be home with your children you will not be very effective if they are demanding your attention all day. Your children will have to adjust to the business being in your home the same way you and your spouse are adjusting.

I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles/blogs on my site. Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

Dealing With Pressure For The Home-Based Business Entrepreneur

What is the most effective way to deal with the anxiety that a home-based business entrepreneur experiences? The quick answer is to realize that this is part of being a business owner and to learn to live with it. The anxiety will not go away over night and you may be experiencing it for many years as you look at the profit/loss margins that occur with starting a business and moving to a place where it is stable and successful.

Many people are drawn to the idea of being self-employed, and not having to work for a boss and also because they think that there are many freedoms with this type of business. They soon find out; however, that this is not the case and they will actually be working long, hard hours for a few years as they try to get their business on its feet. The difference in being self-employed is that everything rests on your shoulders. When you were working for someone else, you had to deal with things you probably did not want to but the entire weight of the financial success of the company was not your concern – now it is. You are now concerned if there will be enough profit to pay your employees (that includes yourself), your vendors, and your bills.

Remember that simply because you are feeling pressure does not mean your business is going to fail. It simply means you are now in business for yourself and are facing the same pressures that all business owners experience at some time or another. Anxiety is a great motivator. You may wake up and not want to do any work, you would prefer to make an early round of golf, instead you realize that if you choose this option you will only be making it more difficult for yourself and you will lose money as opposed to making money. I would actually be concerned if you started a new business and had absolutely no fears at all, that is being arrogant and has a great chance of leading to failure.

There is a difference in being confident about your business venture and arrogant. Arrogant is thinking nothing will go wrong and you do not have to make an effort or sweat over the financial affairs of your new business. So how do you deal with the pressure? Make sure you have a financial plan. Talk to those who are involved in your business and make sure everyone knows their goals. Talk about the risks and whether-or-not, they are worth taking. Do not stick your head in the sand and pretend they do not exist – they do and you need to face them head on and when you do,you will be successful and your anxiety will lessen and will eventually go away.

I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles/blogs on my site. Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

Balancing Your Work For The Home Business

With so many young people trying to work from home on the Internet it is amazing just how many of them really do not have the slightest idea of the workload they have got themselves into.

Many of these people did not even sit down and assess what it is that they see as reasonable personal goal. This is a huge mistake on their part. You must know what you want in order to find a way to obtain it. It must be clear to everyone willing to jump into the Internet marketing world; if you are not sure whether or not you have the drive and a willingness to succeed you might want to save yourself some time, money and much aggravation. It is easy to desire something, and you may think you know how to get it, but there is this little issue about dedication and determination, do you have it? Why put yourself through the troubles of failing and wondering exactly where you went wrong.

The great Winston Churchill once said, “If you find yourself walking through hell, just keep going”. This idea of the struggles people face, in business and in life is just that. Struggles, the winners will survive and the weak will fall. This has been a true facet in life since the beginning of time. Basically staying power in the Internet marketing business is about keeping your face off the pavement.

They also do not get the fact that because it is their business and not someone else’s responsibility, that they in turn will have to work probably much harder to keep it going. When these people hear the nonsense about working 1 hour per week and striking it rich, I truly feel sorry for their heads and wallets when they inevitably re-enter the earth’s atmosphere, and hit the ground with a screeching halt. Again this may be nothing more than naivety, and not total stupidity. The unfortunate part for most people new to the scene is that they have absolutely no idea just what it entails on a time basis.

What must be remembered is that success cannot be bought in a can. It is the single marketing plan and strategy that is doomed to fail. You must be able to walk many avenues in order to reap the benefits of the successes it can yield. Buy into what you truly feel will get you ahead, listen to what other marketers are saying in the forums and try to catch on quick. This field is extremely fast and waits for no one. The best way to do business is to spread out your resources as much as possible; the best way for exposure is to be out in the middle of the field, if you do your research first, then i have no doubt you will be successful.

Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the very best!

Overcoming your Home Business Fears

Did you know that all people are natural-born sellers? It's just that not everyone realizes it. The first thing that comes to our mind is the fear of doing a home business. This is because you are in doubt whether you could sell your product or service. Most often, fears of selling come in several forms. Either we worry about not being liked, or being perceived as pushy, we worry that our product or service might not perform as we say or we struggle with the idea of rejection. Knowing the source of your fear (sometimes it can be a combination) is an important part of overcoming your fear of selling.

Next it is important to take action to address the source. In this way, you are taking action to overcome your fear. Did you know that fear is only FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL?

In some cases, this might mean that you improve your product or service (you can use customer feedback for this), or you can find ways to share your product/service in a way that feels more authentic and natural to you. You can also find ways to "bounce back" after rejection which is easier to do if you don't take "no" personally.

Start small. Very often, people tend to tackle projects much larger than they can comfortably handle. When you want to overcome your fear of selling you should start small. Maybe you will share your new business with a few trusted friends first and then gradually find ways to expand your sharing to include a larger circle. The most successful business people are those who interact with others in an authentic, passionate way so find a way that feels comfortable with you and stay with it.

One other technique to overcome the fear of selling as you go on with your home business is to tap into your passion and enthusiasm for what you are offering. You can make a list of all the really wonderful benefits and successful outcomes of past customers. You can hang this list nearby where you can see it everyday and it will definitely boost your confidence.

Keep track of your successes by keeping a "wins" or success journal nearby and record your achievements in it each day. This will help you stay aware of just how much you do right. We sometimes tend to forget this.

Have fun with it rather than approaching this from a heavy "have to" or "doesn't feel good" perspective. Find a fun, interesting way to share your knowledge or passion.

It is also important to stay focused on your desired outcome. Most people take actions and reach their goals because they stay focused on the benefits of doing so. Sometimes, reminding yourself what you want, why you're doing this can help you take the next action and the next.

And finally keep practicing. Like any other business skill, "selling" gets easier the more you do it. So get out there, start small, and keep practicing!

Your feedback is important to us....and we wish you the absolute very best!
